Dr. Gallo's teaching of both undergraduate and graduate students has been characterized by his close work with his students. He moves students to consider their subject matter not simply as testable material but rather as information which has relevance in the larger world. Student's point out Dr. Gallo's dedication to their questions as one of his strongest pedagogical tools. Many students cite him as instrumental in their choice of career. Funded by the NIH and SF, his work, on his own and alongside his students, has resulted in numerous publications. The objective of Dr. Gallo's research program is to understand the neuroendocrine mechanisms regulating the ovulatory luteinizing hormone surge on proestrus. |
