Throughout his career, students have consistently placed Dr. Clark's teaching in the outstanding catagory, and his interest in students and colleagues is apparent in his accessible and approachable manner. His numerous teaching awards reflect that he is in the forefront of teachers of excellence in the agricultural and food sciences in the U.S.. Not content with the traditional lecture format, he began to implement technology in his classrooms and introduced problem solving exercises to his curriculum. Dr. Clarke's student-centered approach to instruction reflects his dedication to educating himself in new forms of pedagogical technique and his willingness to share his experiences with his colleagues. Not only outstanding in the classroom, he is a true teacher-scholar with a most commendable research record. His research interests include lactation, nutrition, and neonatal development. Dr. Clarke has found success in multiple arenas at UConn and most importantly is known as an extraordinary teacher.
