Linda Strausbaugh, Ph.D

Dr. Strausbaugh recieved her B.S from Wright State University and her Ph.D from Wesleyan University. Dr. Strausbaugh joined the faculty at the University of Connecticut in 1980.

Dr. Strausbaugh has demonstrated an exemplary dedication to teaching both graduate and undergraduate students. As an instructor, she is able to clearly present biology concepts to biology majors and non-majors alike. Besides the popularity of her courses, she has been an effective mentor to numerous students. Dr. Strausbaugh has shared her experiences as a mentor with other faculty at conferences and has made presentations on this type of relationship. Her dedication to promoting diversity is evident in her tenure at the university and her contributions to numerous outreach programs. Dr. Strausbaugh's style, organization, empathy and charisma have made her a sucessful instructor and motivator in a demanding subject area. Her research interests include structure, regulation and evolution of multigene families and have resulted in numerous publications and presentations.
