Instructional Technology

The development of courses sometimes involves the inclusion of computer technology and the creation of learning objects. Any technology introduced into a course is based on the learning objectives set by the professor. Technology in these cases only serves as a tool to facilitate student learning.

We utilize a wide range of technological solutions, ranging from the university-supported course management system, Vista (WebCT), to complex computer programming environments. The options we eventually use are determined by several factors such as the objective to be accomplished by student use of the tool, the nature of the course being designed, and the time limit for the development of the project.

We have also been involved in other technical projects which were not affiliated with course work. An example of such a project is the development of a comprehensive help system for UConn’s implemented PeopleSoft package.
