EDCI 5830-03: Advanced Issues in Teaching and Learning
Taught by Keith Barker et al
The focus of this independent study is to pursue at significant depth some attributes of a particular course or instructional method. Over the semesters, this has been done through
- the creation of a new course from basic principles using a structured instructional design process
- modification of a significant portion of an existing course to introduce new material, innovative activities, and better assessment
- creation of pedagogical sound evaluative methods, feedback, and reflections
Other formats are possible but all should include some creativity, sound pedagogy, good evaluation, and necessary reflection.
The prerequisites are EDCI 326-01 (or EDCI 5830-01) or GRAD 5915 and EDCI 326-02 (or EDCI 5839-02). Instructor consent is required.
